David has developed an expertise in dermatohistopathology, dermatology and cutaneous immunology since qualifying from the RVC in 1984.

He has a PhD in canine cutaneous immunology and microbiology and was Lecturer in Veterinary Pathology, University of Bristol (1992-1997).

David has published papers on cutaneous immunology, clinical dermatology and a textbook of ectoparasites. 

He currently acts as a dermatohistopathologist consultant for Rest Associates, and teaches dermatology for Improve CPD.

David has lectured on dermatology, dermatopathology and pathology at both national and international congresses in Europe and North America .

He is currently secretary of The International Society of Dermatohistopathology.
